Heidi Mitchell Founder | Principal Designer

Greetings!  I am a native of Seattle, Washington, and spent my early adult years in California, Utah, and Southern Arizona, which lured me to sunny New Mexico.

My creativity blossomed during my formal Culinary Arts education and training in San Francisco. I went on to cook in fine dining and as a private Chef in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I especially found a fondness for detail and precision while working in the pastry kitchen at Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah.

I eventually transitioned from ‘back of the house’ to ‘front of the house’ at one of Santa Barbara, California’s finest restaurants Wine Cask as Assistant Catering Manager. I fell in love with event planning, designing, coordinating luxury weddings, and managing high-profile client celebrations. A few years later, l departed Santa Barbara for my next adventure.

When the opportunity of working as Catering Manager at a historical property in my previous home of Santa Fe arose, I eagerly grabbed it. While employed at the Bishop’s Lodge, I primarily worked with wedding clientele. I frequently received requests to assist with every aspect of their event planning, which led me to open and manage a successful destination wedding and event planning business from 2006 until 2017.

My introduction to graphic design began when I designed and built my business’ website after the web designer I hired presented a lackluster final product. I also felt frustrated at the length of time it took simple website update requests to be completed. At the time, wedding websites were a new concept, so I began creating customized sites to include pertinent information for their guests. Weddings often require collateral such as itineraries, signage, programs, seating charts, place cards, and menus. Without knowing it, I was getting on-the-job training for my next endeavor. After over a decade and more than 200 weddings and events under my belt, I began freelancing as a graphic designer for small local businesses.

In 2019 I went from part-time freelance graphic designer to full-time partner at a design firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In early 2021 I founded the Creatives and love to captivate and engage people through my graphic design.

I spend time with my husband, three children, and two dogs, sip on coffee, enjoy local IPA, and cook delicious meals in my spare time.

Hi! I’m Romy. I am happy to work with you and help create your design and online presence to best meet your business needs.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and continue to expand my knowledge in the ever-evolving digital world to best reach your customers.

It’s so rewarding to be working with Heidi and to collaborate for our clients after a lifetime of close friendship.

I am rooted in the Pacific Northwest, dividing my time between Bellevue, WA, and Coeur d’Alene, ID.

Creating and graphic design is a passion of mine which also compliments my personal interest in baking and home design.

Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family, my two golden retrievers and an affinity for boating and travel.
